Procables, was founded in 1972 in the city of Bogotá, with the main objective of producing and marketing disposition of the Colombian market cables and electrical wires of copper and aluminum alloys.
Procables was part of an industrial group with a history of more than fifty years in the country. So himself, participated in large projects of rural electrification, urban networks and commercial distribution.
In 2012 Procables was acquired by the American multinational General Cable. Later, in 2018, General Cable was acquired by Prysmian Group, a multinational company of origin Italian and world leader in the electrical and telecommunications cables sector. That's why today in Procables day is a Prysmian Group brand.
Prysmian Group has its beginnings as a cable division of the Italian group “Pirelli”, a company dedicated to cable production. By July 2005, Prysmian acquires the cable and telecommunications systems from the Pirelli group; in 2011 it merged with the Draka cable company and the Prysmian Group was born. Today with almost
140 years in the market has a presence in more than 50 countries, 25 Research and Development centers, 112
plants and more than 30,000 employees.
Procables, a brand Prysmian Group has its production plant in Bogotá which also has a laboratory accredited under ISO 17025. Procables also has ISO 9001 certifications - Quality Management System, ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 - Management of Safety and Health at work.
Through almost 50 years in the Colombian market, Procables has achieved an important recognition locally for which the Procables brand will continue in the country. However, Prysmian Group has implemented a multi-brand strategy with the purpose of expressing the visual identity, ensuring coherence and consistency anywhere in the world.
